What type of vehicle can I use as a trade-in?

We’ll take almost any kind of vehicle as a trade-in at Larry H. Miller Toyota Peoria! If you can get it here, we’ll consider it. We accept all makes and models of cars, trucks and SUVs in almost any condition, even salvage titles. You can also use the following other types of vehicles as a trade-in:

How do you determine the value of my trade-in vehicle?

We use wholesale market book value. This is the amount your vehicle will sell for at a wholesale auction. Since we buy your trade-in without the opportunity to do a thorough mechanical inspection, we may encounter unforeseen problems that you may not have realized needed attention. Problems with brakes, rotors, belts or other system issues will keep the vehicle from meeting our high quality standards for adding the trade-in to our used inventory. When that happens, we can recoup our investment by sending the vehicle to wholesale auction.

Why did the trade-in value change from the last time I was here just a month ago?

Book value fluctuates with the market and changes frequently. Your vehicle has also accumulated more miles. For these reasons, we only guarantee our trade-in offers for five days or five hundred miles.

Why didn't you give me more money for the cool features I had added to my car?

While factory installed options (sunroof, tow package, leather, navigation) will increase your vehicle's value, after-market installations are less likely to do so. Sometimes aftermarket options are required to be removed in order for the vehicle to pass a safety and service inspection.

Does having an accident on my CARFAX affect the value of my trade?

Absolutely. But probably not as much as you might think. The CARFAX will usually detail the type of accident and whether the vehicle was operable afterwards. If your car still shows damage, that will certainly have a big impact on your trade value because we’ll have to repair it. If repairs were already performed by a reputable company and no damage is visible, you’ll see much less impact on your trade value.
