Corolla model Powertrains
The base Corolla engine featured in the 2023 Corolla Sedan and Corolla Hatchback has been upgraded to offer an additional 30 horsepower. Its new 169-hp, 2L 4-cylinder CVT FWD powertrain offers a normal and eco driving mode in the LE trim, while SE and XSE provide normal, sport and eco modes. All 2023 Toyota Corolla, excluding the GR Corolla, are designated "Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicles."
Hybrid Corollas have a standard 138-hp Hybrid 1.8L 4-cylinder CVT FWD powertrain with an available AWD option.
The Corolla Cross powertrain consists of a standard 169-hp 2L, 4-cyldiner engine paired with a CVT transmission with intelligence and Shift Mode. AWD is an available option.
Corolla Cross Hybrids' standard all-wheel drive powertrain includes a 196-hp 2L, 4-cylinder hybrid engine paired with an electronically controlled CVT.
