Hybrid Power Train

The drivetrain utilizes a continuously variable transmission and produces 121 horsepower and 120 lb.-ft. of torque.

A New Nightshade Edition

The 2022 Nightshade Edition is offered in all-wheel drive (AWD-e), with 15-inch black forged titanium-finished alloy wheels, blackout headlight components and black model and grade badges. The Nightshade Edition FWD also has the specialty headlights and badges, but features 17-inch, 5-spoke alloy wheels with black lug nuts and piano-black wheel inserts. Both the AWD-e and FWD Nightshade Edition models provide standard heated steering wheel and heated front seats.

Prius Prime Plug-In Model

For even more fuel economy, the Prius Prime Plug-In changes automatically and easily between its gas and electric power systems to squeeze every last mile out of that tank of gas. The Prius prime will recharge its battery during driving via regenerative braking. When plug-in charging is needed for the 25-mile range electric motor, it takes a little over 2 hours (240-volt) or up to 5.5 hours with a 120-volt connection for a full charge.
